🔐 Why Security and Compliance for Notion?

As Notion grows upmarket and services more enterprise customers, the needs of our customers – and Notion admins – are also growing and evolving. Last year, Notion formed a dedicated Enterprise team to invest in enterprise readiness, and over the last year, we’ve been hard at work designing a new, more complete Enterprise experience for our workspace admins to make sure we check all their boxes. We are focusing on three key areas of our enterprise product:

• ✔️ Admin controls, security and compliance — includes domain management, user access management, third party security and compliance integrations, HIPAA compliance certification, and more
• ✔️ Change management — includes importers, technology integrations with daily use apps like Jira, GitHub, and Slack
• 🔜 … and more coming soon — includes organizational settings and more controls for workspace configuration at scale

Notion admins and workspace owners have shared continued feedback that they want to monitor workspace activity and more granularly secure workspace content while staying compliant. We believe the believe the best way to approach the security and compliance space is by partnering with the tools our Notion decision makers already use and trust. Enter: Notion’s Security and Compliance Partnership Program.

🆕 Notion’s Discovery API

To enable security and compliance use cases and integrations, the Notion team has built net new APIs to support the following use cases:

• ✔️ Security Incident and Events Management (SIEM)
• ✔️ Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
• 🔜 eDiscovery (Collections, Legal Hold, Export)
• 🔮 Data Backup (Export)

As we continue to grow the scope of the Discovery API and expand to new use cases, we’ll monitor new areas of interests of both our enterprise customers and partners to continue to support new security and compliance workflows. For now, we will only permit you into the partner program where the use case is supported through the API and met through information provided in your application.
